A Strong Foundation for Learning
Walferdange is home to three primary public schools and accompanying Maison Relais facilities in Walferdange, Helmsange, and Bereldange. These schools provide a structured learning environment for children at different stages of their education, while the Maison Relais offers care and activities outside school hours. All three buildings are served by dedicated school buses and operate a library.
Walferdange Primary School
Walferdange Primary School is the largest primary school in the commune, welcoming students from Cycle 1 to Cycle 4 (preschool to 6th grade). From 5th grade, all children from the commune are schooled in the Walferdange building. The school has grown over the years to accommodate the increasing number of students in the area. It provides a modern learning environment with well-equipped classrooms and outdoor spaces designed to encourage both learning and play.
Maison Relais
The Maison Relais in Walferdange provides care and activities for students before and after school. It offers a structured and safe environment where children can receive homework support, engage in creative workshops, and participate in sports and group activities. The goal is to give students a balanced mix of learning and play.
Helmsange Primary School
Located in the village of Helmsange, this school welcomes students from Cycle 1 to Cycle 3. It is currently the only school building in the commune to welcome “précoce” pupils as of the age of three. It has become an important part of the local education system. The school focuses on building a supportive learning atmosphere where students are encouraged to develop both academically and socially. It has its own sports hall. The Airtramp is especially popular with the kids.
Maison Relais
The Maison Relais in Helmsange provides flexible care outside school hours, offering a mix of sports, art activities, and group play. The relaxed and supportive setting helps children build confidence and social connections while developing new skills and friendships.
Bereldange Primary School
Bereldange Primary School serves students from Cycle 1 to Cycle 3. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, the school encourages interactive learning and teamwork. The classrooms and learning spaces are designed to foster creativity and problem-solving skills.
Maison Relais
The Maison Relais in Bereldange supports students with a variety of activities aimed at developing creativity and teamwork. It provides quiet spaces for homework and relaxation, alongside opportunities for play and exploration, helping children balance their academic and social lives.
